July 31, 2008

The kids had a great time at the pool this morning and came home ready for a restful afternoon. I enjoyed my quiet time this morning while they were gone, too. I did a lot of Wii Fit. I figured I should get in as much working out as I could before my weigh in tonight; besides, I am really sick of that animated board guy telling me I have gained weight every morning. I also did some laundry. Real exciting stuff, but it was nice to have some peaceful time to get it done.

Tonight Vic came home from work early so that I could go to WW. I was so happy to be down .6lbs. That's not much, but considering I ate pretty much nothing but junk last weekend, I was happy. In fact, I'll be happy any time my weight goes down any amount. That put me at exactly 5 pounds down from the time I joined WW, so I got my little star sticker for my bookmark - woohoo!

Off to bed now since it is very late. Vic needed the laptop for work stuff all night, so this is the first chance I've had to write the blog. I hope the desktop is fixed soon. Sharing a computer is rough! ;)

July 30, 2008

This morning the boys played outside with squirt guns while Jamie and I stayed in and enjoyed the air conditioning. I took some videos of the boys, and one of these days I will get to post them. For now, our desktop is still not working right.

This afternoon I took the kids over to Grammy & Grampy's house to spend the night. They were all excited to go, and it looks like Jamie will be staying all night this time, since we haven't gotten a phone call yet. Tomorrow morning they are going to the pool, and I am going to d0 laundry and run errands in peace. :)

Tonight Vic & I went out to eat Mexican food all by ourselves! It was so good, but I really shouldn't have gone out for Mexican the day before my weigh in. Oh well, I'll just have to be extra good tomorrow.

Right now we are trying to figure out the bubble balance game on Wii Fit, with very little success so far. I don't think we're going to bed until one of us finishes the first level. So far, even our high scores still say we're "unbalanced". The Wii Fit really tells it like it is, lol!

July 29, 2008

We had a nice day today. Everyone was happier and less tired. We stayed around the house this morning, and Jamie and Caleb played together nicely almost all morning. They played a lot of princess dress up, which Caleb loves to do and that always cracks me up. I got some pictures of him in Jamie's Mariposa dress, but I can't post them yet because we are having more troubles with our desktop. The internet isn't working now on the desktop, so I am using the laptop right now.

This afternoon we had a rain shower and then Caleb had fun playing in the puddles outside. After he dried, we all went to Walmart to try and knock out Carson's school supply list. I got everything except for the 3x5 index card box he needs. They only had one, and it had a pink lid. So, he wasn't going for that. There are still four weeks and five days left of Summer break, not that I'm counting or anything. I have been ordering uniforms, too. So, we should be prepared when that happy September day arrives. :)

By the way, the Wii Fit told me I gained 1.8 pounds while I was away. I guess I had too much fun!

July 28, 2008

We all started off today tired because no one in the house slept well last night. I figured we would all enjoy a good night's sleep being back in our own beds, but noooooo. Well, Vic and I would have but the kids had other plans. They were all up at different times last night and Vic ended up in the extra bed in Carson's room since Carson couldn't sleep, and I ended up in our bed with Caleb and Jamie. I guess they need to adjust to being back home.

So, basically I spent today trying to clean up and unpack from our trip while managing some tired, grumpy little kids. Caleb did take a nap this morning, and that was nice. We also went on a little adventure to Publix, and that's always loads of fun with tired kids.

Jamie played Webkinz and a little Toontown. Carson played quite a lot of Toontown because that was the only way I could get anything done today. He had fun racing online with Grammy, and even got me a cool new race car. :) Carson also played with William this afternoon.

Vic and I never got to watch the movie last night, so that is our plan for tonight. I am off to get these kids in bed and hope everyone has a more restful night tonight. We are having a nice, light rain outside right now, which I'm hoping will help everyone sleep.

July 24-27, 2008

We're home! We all enjoyed our weekend away. I think Caleb had just as much fun as we had on his "golfing weekend"!

We headed out Thursday morning and arrived at Carowinds around 4:00. We spent a few hours riding our favorite rides and the kids played a game where Carson won two stuffed frogs and Jamie won one. Then headed out to get dinner and check into the hotel. We were upgraded to a suite again - woohoo! That makes it so much easier to stay in a hotel with kids.

Friday morning we got to the park at 9:45 so that Vic could be at the beginning of the line for the Nighthawk. I can't believe he likes this thing. It makes my palms sweat just watching it. After that, we split up for a while and Jamie and I went to the kids area while Carson and Vic went to some of the bigger rides. Jamie pretty much likes the kiddie swings, Azul the train, the cars, and the carousel and that's it. So, we rode those over and over and over again. Luckily, there was very little if any wait time for the rides. After that, Jamie and Carson both won another frog, for a total of 5 frogs. They wanted more but we decided that was plenty of frogs to carry around the park. Apparently, frogs get lonely and need lots of friends.

After lunch we headed to the water park where everyone's favorite attraction was the wave pool. Carson and Vic also went down some slides, including a speed slide, which Carson loved. It is the one at the top of the tower on this page. I can't believe he liked that.

We left about 4:30 on Friday and headed back to the hotel for a while to rest and shower. After that we took the kids to an outlet mall that we found when we were in Charlotte back in April. It has a HUGE play area in the middle. This thing is bigger than any play area I have ever seen. The kids were amazed and had a great time.

Saturday morning we headed to Asheville and spent a great day with Grandpa and Gran at the Fun Depot. The Fun Depot was truly lots of fun! The kids played games galore, Jamie played on the playground until she was "exhausted", and Carson loved speeding around in the go karts, once with Grandpa and once with Vic. Vic enjoyed it just as much as the kids, I think. He loved the go karts and also tried out the batting cages. He even suggested to the kids on the way home today that we go back there for their birthdays, lol.

After the Fun Depot fun, Carson went back home with Grandpa and Gran while Jamie, Vic and I checked into our hotel in downtown Asheville and headed out to explore the Bele Chere festival. It was neat seeing all the arts and crafts, but for the most part we found it very crowded and expensive. It was no Fun Depot, that's for sure. ;)

We picked up Carson and then tucked in two very tired kids around 10:00 on Saturday.

This morning we walked around downtown Asheville and found a neat little eatery called the Green Sage. We enjoyed a great breakfast before hitting the road to head home. We picked up Caleb around 6:00 and heard all about his fun weekend golfing and playing at the Little Jumping Bean. Sounds like he had a whole lot of fun! We missed the little guy and were glad to have him back. Grammy fared better this time and had no broken bones when we returned! :)

We have no pictures at all because we left our memory card at home. I wish we had some photos, but it was kind of nice to enjoy the vacation without worrying about taking so many pictures.

Now we are going to watch Dan in Real Life and then get some rest. I am so glad that we won't be sleeping on a hotel bed tonight! It is good to be home.

July 23, 2008

Carson and Jamie had fun at the pool with Grammy this morning. They went back to her house and played and were supposed to both spend the night. But, we got a call at about 9:20 saying that Jamie wanted to come home. So, she is at home and sleeping peacefully now. Carson was definitely not passing up the chance to spend the night at Grammy & Grampy's house and is still there.

I spent the day packing up everything for our trip this weekend. I am all ready to go except for putting together a couple of activity bags for the kids to keep them happy for 5 hours. I am excited about the trip. I hope everyone has fun. Carson has been saying that he would rather stay here with Grammy, and Jamie is already worried that she will miss her toys too much. Ahhh, family fun.

So, tomorrow we will drop off Caleb at Grammy & Grampy's house for his "golf vacation weekend", and pick up Carson and force him to endure some quality family time in Charlotte. I really do think he'll have fun. He just likes to complain sometimes. I am sure Caleb will have fun with Grammy & Grampy. He is excited about playing golf with Grampy. He spent much of today hitting plastic golf balls around the house. That boy can't get enough golf.

I'm not sure if I'll get to post any blogs this weekend. The hotel has WiFi, but I may not get the chance to use it. Last time we were pretty busy all the time. I'll be back to the blog by Monday, and hopefully I'll be able to post pictures. :)

July 22, 2008

I spent all of today doing laundry and starting to pack for our trip this weekend. I also cleaned up about 100 messes that the kids made, including a bunch of blueberries that were spilled on the floor and then smashed(but Jamie cleaned up most of that one), crushed up crackers courtesy of Caleb, spilled bag of dried beans(also Caleb), pee on the Wii Fit board and the wood floor(Caleb again but totally my fault for getting distracted in the middle of a diaper change), laundry on the floor, craft sequins on the floor, and popcorn. It seems the days when I need to get the most done the kids try their hardest to be sure I get nothing done.

I still accomplished a lot, though. Vic's poker night was supposed to be over here tonight, so I got the downstairs clean but found out at 6:30 that it was canceled. I also got all the laundry except one load done and some packing done.

The kids spent the day playing around the house. They went outside a little, but it was pretty hot so they didn't stay long. Around 5:00 I noticed that Caleb had been very quiet and went looking for him. After a couple of minutes of searching, I found him on the playroom floor in front of the couch. There was a pillow on the floor there with a pillowcase on it. He had crawled inside the pillow case with his head sticking out the top and fallen asleep. It was pretty cute. He looked very cozy. I took pictures, which I will post soon. I can't upload pictures right now because we need some kind of new cable for the printer first. I guess things got messed up when we added the new laser printer.

Tonight we picked up dinner from Applebee's, mostly just to get out of the house for a while, and also so I don't have to mess up the kitchen cooking. Now Carson and Jamie are still up, so I need to get them in the bed and then start picking up everything upstairs to get ready for the cleaning lady tomorrow.

July 21, 2008

I got up early this morning with Caleb and did my body test on Wii Fit. It told me that I have lost 1.5 pounds. Woohoo! I don't know how accurate that thing is, but it always makes me happy when it says I've lost. :) It asked Vic the other day how he thought I was looking. Being a smart man, he clicked on "Slimmer". So, the Wii Fit told me this morning that someone recently said I was looking slimmer. I thought that was funny.

After that, I got busy making dinner because I was taking food over to a MOPS mom who had a new baby and I knew I wouldn't have time to do it later since I had to take the kids to see the dentist. It worked out pretty well. It's so much quieter in the morning and easier to get stuff done. I should do that more often. It's a lot easier than trying to make dinner when the kids are tired and cranky.

Carson's friend came over again this morning and Carson went over to his house for a while too. No weapons this time, aside from plastic swords and light sabers, so all was well.

We left for the dentist around 1:00. This is definitely one of my least favorite tasks. The office has three dentists, so it is fairly large. It is always packed and there are kids everywhere. Think Chuck E Cheese on a Saturday night. But they do a great job and have a cool set up where each kid's chair back in the exam room has its own TV and headset and they have toys in the waiting room. Jamie has no cavities, and Carson also has no cavities but has a spot that may turn into a cavity. Great. Also, Carson had to get a tooth pulled. It was really just half a tooth because the tooth had already gotten loose and fallen out, but a little bit of it was left attached. :shivers: He had been so worried about having it taken out, but it turned out to be no big deal at all. A little numbing medicine and a couple of wiggles and the dentist had it out. Carson didn't even know he had started.

Carson and Jamie both spent the afternoon playing with friends, and Caleb, who was very tired, spent the afternoon clinging to my leg and whining. He had a great time playing in the waiting room at the dentist office and was so tired when we got home. I've never seen anyone have that much fun at any dentist office. :)

July 20, 2008

Vic was ushering this morning, so he left for church an hour early. I skipped church and took the kids to Sunday School. After Sunday School, Vic took Carson and Jamie to the "Ice Slushy Store". He didn't even get himself one. I was very impressed since he is a huge Icee fan. He is trying to watch what he eats and cut down on sugar.

We grilled out steak and some veggies for lunch, which were very yummy! After that, we cleaned up around the house and I made a quick trip to Publix. When I got home, Carson had a friend over. I went up to Carson's room to check on them and found the door locked - a no no in our house. So, I knew they were up to something. I had heard a lot of commotion as I was walking to the door, but that's not unusual as they are always sword fighting or fighting some sort of alien bad guy. They let me in and his friend was hiding something behind his back. I got him to show me what it was and discovered that he had a BOX CUTTER with the blade out! Holy Moly! Apparently they had been over at his house while I was at Publix and he had picked it up and brought it over to our house. So, I walked him home and returned his weapon to his mother. Both boys have been sternly lectured. I hope they will not try anything like that again. Crazy kids!

Speaking of crazy kids, time to get them all in the bed now. I am really ready for some quiet time today!

July 19, 2008

Vic took Carson and Jamie to the beach this morning. He thought there was a Cub Scout event by the pier today, but there were no Cub Scouts to be found there besides Carson, so he must have misunderstood. They had a good time anyway. Jamie made a friend named Joy. She thought it was pretty cool that the little girl had the same name as Grammy. They came home around one o'clock completely worn out.

Caleb and I stayed around here this morning, except for a trip to Publix. I was just getting him ready for a nap when the big kids got home. There was no way he was going to sleep and miss out on any excitement. So, there was much whining around our house this afternoon with tired and cranky Caleb and Jamie. Caleb did end up taking a short nap later on the couch next to Vic.

Tonight we went out for Mexican food with Grammy & Grampy. As usual I ate too much, but at least this time I ordered the chicken fajitas instead of the combo I usually get, which has a burrito and enchilada, rice and beans. I figured I saved a few calories. It still came up to 14 WW points once I entered everything online. Yikes! Good thing I didn't eat any chips.

Speaking of Weight Watchers, I went to the meeting this morning before Vic and the kids left for the beach. I was down 1.4 pounds, which doesn't really mean anything since I usually weigh in at night. But I figure I'm probably about the same. We'll be out of town next week Thursday through Sunday, so I won't be weighing in again until the next Thursday, 12 days from now.

Vic is downstairs trying to beat my record on ski jumping on the Wii. So, I have to go defend my title now and then head to bed. I slept 8 hours last night, but I am still completely worn out from VBS last week.

July 18, 2008

We wrapped up our VBS week today. The kids were a little extra riled up, but it went by surprisingly fast. Afterwards, we all stayed after to clean up and eat pizza. It was amazing how quickly we took down our camp site and the room looked like VBS was never there. It was almost sad, but not quite because my nerves have had enough VBS for this year. :)

Jamie was sad that bible school is over, poor little social butterfly. I think she will be very happy in September when she gets to be in school all day. Carson was ready to get home and play his new Lego Star Wars video game. Caleb had a fun week and made a new friend, Sarah. She is one month older than Caleb. She gave him a big hug when we left the nursery and knocked him down. It was so cute. Then, they sat together when we were eating our pizza lunch.

I am so tired I feel like I could sleep for days. At least I can sleep in a little tomorrow since I won't have to leave for WW until 8:40. Of course, that would mean Caleb would have to sleep in too, which probably won't happen. He likes to be up with the sun so he doesn't miss out on anything. So, I guess I had better stop typing and go get some rest!

July 17, 2008

Another fun day at VBS today! We only had twelve today, but I discovered that it's not really any easier than having 15. They're sweet kids; they just have A LOT of energy. They get pretty hyped up toward the end of the morning and it's hard to get anything done. I hope they're learning something. I can tell they're having a good time.

Tonight we had our annual VBS ice cream social. All the classes got to sing a song and say a memory verse. Our class sang "The Lord's Army", so I got to march in place and pretend to ride a horse and make shooting motions in front of at least 100 people. It was fun, though. I was proud of myself for not eating any ice cream. I figured I could come home and have a cup of WW ice cream for only two points, but I never did eat it.

I didn't weigh in tonight because I had to go to the VBS thing. I am planning to go to the meeting on Saturday morning. According to my scales at home, I am the same as last week. I am not surprised because I have been so tired this week and have done very little exercise and there have been some fantastic snacks in the teacher's break room. I have very little will power when there are sweets right in front of me.

Off to get some rest now before our last day of VBS!

Tuesday, July 15, 2008

July 15, 2008

We made it through day two of VBS today. Today we got four new kids in our class(including a set of triplets), bringing our total to 15. Fifteen kids with lots of energy. Well, some of them more than others. ;) All in all, it wasn't a bad day. They did get a little lively toward the end of the morning, but we made it through. I left with a headache and completely worn out, but I think the kids are having fun, and hopefully they are learning something.

I know my kids are having fun. Even Caleb seems to be having a good time in the nursery. I saw his group as they were headed out to the playground today. He looked very happy. He saw me and ran over to say hello then he took off again and got back in line. I think he was excited to be going outside. Jamie has four girls in her VBS class who will be in her preschool class next year. I am glad she has this chance to get to know them so that she will have friends in her class already in September.

We spent the rest of the afternoon staying at home. Carson played over at William's house and I think they played a Wii tank game. I ordered pizza tonight, which always makes the kids happy. Now I am going to go start moving them towards bath and then bed. Hopefully, they are all as tired as I am and will sleep well!

Monday, July 14, 2008

July 14, 2008

We made it through day one of VBS today. We have 11 kids in our class, and they have a whole lot of energy. I think they had fun, though. I am glad that we take them to different areas and to different teachers for crafts, recreation, music and snack. It helps break up the time and gives them a change of scenery.

The kids got little cardboard treasure boxes today, and when Carson opened his he asked me why it was empty. I told him he could go home and put something in it that is special to him. He said, "Hmmm. I don't think I can fit the Wii remote in here."

Carson played with William all afternoon and Caleb and Jamie played together. Caleb never did take a nap, so he went to bed early again tonight. Now I need to go get Jamie in the bed and then look over the VBS stuff to get ready for another day.

Sunday, July 13, 2008

July 13, 2008

I am happy to report that we didn't have to sit on the front row at church this morning! We even arrived in time to hear some of the announcements! I am not sure we have ever accomplished that in the past four or so years, so I am very proud. It is much more relaxing being in church with the kids when we're not right up front. I guess there's a good reason those are the last seats to fill up. :)

After lunch today, Vic, Carson and Jamie went over to Grammy & Grampy's house to have a Wii tournament. Brent and Linda went too. I stayed home to work on VBS stuff. Caleb stayed with me because he was supposed to take a nap. He never did, but that's okay. I still was able to get everything done for Bible school.

Tonight we set up our room at the church. It is pretty cool. Our VBS theme is "Faith Expedition", so we have a camping theme in our room. We have nylon netting over our door, a tent set up inside and sleeping bags spread out around a "campfire" that one of the parents made for us out of real wood, a fan and some orange and red tissue paper. The kids will sit on the sleeping bags for the bible story time. So, we will have our bible story around the campfire. I hope the kids like it. I also hope they don't destroy the pastor's tent. We'll see how it goes. :)

July 12, 2008

I enjoyed my birthday dinner last night. We didn't get to eat outside because it was raining, and not just a little bit. There was quite the thunderstorm going on while we ate. I have a knack for picking nights to eat on the beach when it is storming. The place pretty much has windows all around it, so it was kind of cool to see the storm out over the ocean. The best part of the night was that when I ordered a margarita, I got carded! I still wonder if Richard and Melinda, who arrived before we did, paid the guy off to do that, lol. It made my day!

This morning I met Grammy at the pool with the kids. We all had a good time and left after eating lunch there. We spent the rest of the day at home. I was trying to get VBS stuff done, but the printer wasn't cooperating at all, which is not good since VBS starts Monday. I am hoping I can print out a few things over at Grammy & Grampy's house tomorrow. Vic ordered us a laser printer today. We are sick of this inkjet giving us headaches.

Caleb is already asleep for tonight. He fell asleep about 5:30. I am so going to pay for this in the morning when he's up super early, but he was exhausted. If he gets up early, that will give me a chance to get in my Wii Fit workout. I am hoping to have Jamie in the bed fairly early too. I think Carson and Vic are going to go trout fishing tonight. So, I will have lots of quiet time tonight, which I will use for my favorite pastime, putting away laundry.

Friday, July 11, 2008

July 11, 2008

I am making my blog entry early today because we are getting ready to go out to dinner with some friends to celebrate my birthday. We are going to eat by the ocean. It is raining right now, and I really hope it clears up so we can eat outside.

Today was Carson's last day at camp. I think he had a good week. We didn't see all the animals because it was sprinkling rain and very hot and humid. But we did see the cow, Sapphire, and her new baby. Very cute. We also saw chickens and a goose, a turkey, a very stinky pig, some hawks, owls, bald eagles, and a falcon. After that we called it a day and went to McDonald's for some ice cream. I just had a Diet Coke, since I am saving my WW points for tonight.

Now the kids are over at Grammy & Grampy's house, where they will spend the night. :) I need to go get ready now. I am so excited to get to go out tonight!

Thursday, July 10, 2008

July 10, 2008

Not such a good report from Weight Watchers tonight. I gained .6lb. I figured I would gain, though, and the rum cake may have been worth it. :) I'm getting back on track this week.

Carson had fun at Sprinkler day today at camp. When I picked him up, his teacher said that she almost got to keep his squirt gun. Apparently Carson had trouble waiting until sprinkler time to get out the squirt gun. I reminded him that he needed to respect his teacher and follow the rules, but I can't get too upset. I mean, come on, you tell a bunch of 7-8 year old boys they can bring weapons to camp, there' s going to be trouble. He also reported that the cow had her calf, a boy named Graham. Tomorrow, campers' families are invited to walk the trails tomorrow afternoon and visit the animals. I am planning to do that if it isn't too hot and if Caleb isn't too tired. I hope we get to see the calf!

Jamie and I played quite a lot of Wii Fit today. Well, mostly I did. It is so much fun! Right now, my Wii Fit age is 34, so pretty close. I set my goal to lose 22 pounds in 6 months. I need to go enter my WW points for dinner now, so I can get back on track for this week!

Wednesday, July 9, 2008

July 9, 2008

Guess what I got today? Yep, a Wii Fit! Yay! Thanks, Grammy & Grampy! It's just in time, too, because I have eaten way, way too much rum cake. That has to be the best cake ever. Excuse me now while I daydream about eating even more rum cake . . . . Okay, I'm back. I forget how much I love rum cake until I have one in my refrigerator.

I haven't tried the Wii Fit out yet because Vic brought it home tonight and we wanted to get the kids in bed before we got it out. That's right, it's my present and I'm not quite ready to share. Actually, we figured we'd never get them in the bed at a decent time tonight if they were playing with it, and they were all very tired tonight. Oh, and our remotes are still over at Brent's house. Vic is going to go over and get them now.

Caleb and Jamie were tired because they had so much fun at the pool with Grammy this morning. They played with her at the pool while I went to a meeting for VBS and ran some errands. Jamie usually likes to stay on the stairs of the pool, but today she was brave and went all the way across the pool holding on to Grammy.

Carson had another fun day at camp today. He never would really say what they did. He mentioned something about giant cockroaches, and I didn't ask anymore questions after that. I guess it was insect day. He also said they went to see the cow today, but she was facing forward and he couldn't see her behind. Tomorrow they are having sprinkler day where they get to play in the sprinklers and squirt each other with squirt guns. He is looking forward to that.

Okay, I'm off to try out the Wii Fit now. Well, as soon as Vic gets back. I have weigh-in tomorrow, and I am in big trouble. I hope this thing can work miracles. ;)

July 8, 2008

Happy Birthday to me! It's good to be 33! Thanks to everyone for all the birthday wishes today! I had a nice day with the kids. Vic had a meeting tonight, so it was just the kids and me. We got take out food from Applebee's and then we baked cupcakes. I mixed up the batter and Caleb and Jamie put the batter into the cups. Later, all three kids frosted and decorated them with sprinkles. We all had fun, and they were tasty. Yes, I really blew my diet in general today. At least I only ate one cupcake. I'm not too worried about it. I only have one birthday a year; I'm not about to waste it! :)

When Vic came home, he surprised me with my favorite cake: A rum cake from Rum Runners bakery. So, then I just had to sample that, too. Man, that is some good cake. :)

Carson had fun at camp again today. He saw foxes and bobcats today and some kind of bird, I think he said it was a crane. Nothing pooped today, so not quite as exciting as yesterday.

Monday, July 7, 2008

July 7, 2008

Carson had a great time at camp today. His favorite part was when the cow they were looking at pooped. I got to hear about it in great detail in the van on the way home and then again at dinner when Vic asked him about camp. He did also get to feed a turtle and a pig today, but that was all a distant second to the cow poop. Can't wait to hear what tomorrow brings!

The little kids and I went for a nice walk this morning before it got too hot. It was still doggone hot, though. I really hate sweating. Caleb played outside a lot today. Jamie doesn't like the heat and mostly stayed inside. We had a nice day. It is really easy only having two around during the day. It got me to thinking about how relaxing it will be when school starts and I have no kids at home at all three mornings a week. It will be so quiet! I'll probably miss them.

Time to go put away all the laundry now and then watch a little TV to close out my year of being 32! :)

Sunday, July 6, 2008

July 6, 2008

We went to church this morning and managed to get there just as it was starting, but still ended up on the very front row. We have got to get there earlier. It is no fun being up front with Carson and Jamie. It didn't help that we had a long service today since there was a baptism and it was communion Sunday. Next week we're getting there early and staking out a spot on the very back row. :)

Vic and Carson went over to Grammy & Grampy's house after lunch to help repair the fence that the tree hit. Well, Vic went to help with the fence. Carson went to play. He is going to spend the night over there tonight and Grammy will take him to his first day of "Wild about Wildlife" camp tomorrow. Of course, we can't find his tennis shoes anywhere, so I had to run out to Walmart tonight so he would have some to wear tomorrow. Can't imagine where they have gone. I picked up Subway for dinner while I was there. I can have a 6" Veggie Delight with cheese for only 5 WW points, so this is my current favorite meal.

Time to get my tiny tornadoes in bed now, so I can attempt to restore some order to the house. Then, I am going to try to get in a short ab workout since I didn't do anything other exercise today. Only 3 days till weigh -in!

July 5, 2008

Vic and Carson left early this morning to go fishing. They didn't catch anything except for a small crab Carson scooped up in a net, and they threw that back. They still had a nice time and even went for a swim. They got home just as a big storm was moving in.

I did Bob Greene's workout this morning. Thank goodness it is only a 20-minute workout! I am so out of shape. I spent the morning hanging out with Caleb and Jamie and Vic and I spent the afternoon doing some cleaning out and getting a bunch of stuff together for Goodwill. We mostly cleaned out the closet in Caleb's room. His room used to be the guest room, so it accumulated a bunch of stuff that we didn't know where else to put.

We also took down the crib today and Vic hauled it off to Goodwill with the other stuff. That crib has been around here for seven years, so it was a little sad to see it go, but really only a little sad. I'm grateful for my three kids, and I am ready to watch them grow up. I'm looking at this as a sign that I will eventually get to sleep all night again!! Every night!!

Now I am going to go try to recover the downstairs from what the kids did to it while I was cleaning out the closet upstairs. It's amazing how quickly they can mess up the house! That's one of the reasons God makes them so cute. :)

Happy 4th of July!

This morning our whole family and Grammy went to the beach. Our friend, Dan, invited us to park at his house, which was very nice because parking is a pain on holidays at the beach. It was a beautiful morning there, bright and sunny with a very nice breeze to keep us cool. It was a perfect, relaxing morning.

Later today we cooked out at home. I did great on my diet today until I made the mistake of making a dessert tonight. You know, for the kids. So I ate too much of it and now I feel bad. I will do one of Bob's workouts in the morning. He'll get me back in shape. :)

The little kids are sleeping now, and Vic and Carson are outside. They shot off a few fireworks and now I think they are watching some neighbors do their fireworks. They are getting up early in the morning to go fishing, so Carson will have to come inside for bed soon. I had to make sure that Jamie was asleep early tonight or she would be freaking out with all the fireworks going off. Luckily, she was tired out from the beach.

Now I am off to straighten up the downstairs and hope these fireworks stop soon so I can get some rest. I will need my rest for my "level one" workout with Bob Greene in the morning!

July 3, 2008

This morning I dropped the kids off at Grammy & Grampy's house and headed to a meeting with my VBS co-teacher. Grammy & Grampy took the kids swimming, and Caleb even got to play a little golf. I was glad he got to play some golf. He asks every day if we can go to the golf course. They all had lots of fun.

My meeting went well and we talked about decorations for the room and went through and figured out everything we need for decorations and for the lessons and divided up who would get what. We will meet again next Thursday to finalize everything. I am a little nervous about working with the first and second graders, but I think it will be fun.

Later in the day I went over to try out Grammy's new Wii Fit. It is so much fun! I did the hula hooping and managed to actually fall off the balance board a couple of times trying to catch those hula hoops. After that, I tried the aerobics which was also lots of fun, once I figured out what all the little footprints meant. Then, I went for a short run. :) Grammy & Grampy are going to get me a Wii Fit for my birthday as soon as they can find another one. I am so excited!

Vic and Carson took the boat out tonight to watch some fireworks. Jamie hates loud noises and it would be too late for Caleb to stay up, so I just stayed home with them. I'm not big on loud noises myself.

I went to my weekly Weight Watchers weigh in tonight, and I am so excited to report that I lost 3.6 pounds! Woohoooo! :) Now I have set the bar high for next week. I will have to keep working hard.

Carson went with Grammy to see Kung Fu Panda today. After the movie, he went back over to Grammy & Grampy's house and played with Grammy's brand new Wii Fit. He got home around dinner time and we heard all about the movie and we saw lots of the moves acted out. He was a big ball of kung fu energy tonight.

The little kids and I had fun hanging around at home today. I decided to skip the workout video today and go for a walk with the kids. It was nice, and it is definitely a good workout pushing the stroller with both of them in it. Next time, I will go earlier in the day. It was sooo hot, and I hate sweating. We ate a picnic lunch, watched Cinderella III together, did some cleaning up, and dressed Tiny up many, many different ways. The kids got a package in the mail today from Nana and Poppa with some Fourth of July goodies. They were very excited. Thanks, Nana & Poppa! They are always thrilled when they get mail.

I posted a couple of videos from today on dropshots. They upload there much faster than here. One is of Tiny doing her gymnastics tricks and the other is of Caleb giving Tiny a ride on his Caterpillar toy. He calls it a train. If you listen closely, you can here him call "All Aboard!" at the beginning.

Now I have to go finish going over my VBS stuff before my meeting in the morning. Tomorrow is also my Weight Watcher's meeting. I have been trying really hard this week. Hope I get a good report!

July 1, 2008

I was so sore this morning there was no way I was trying Bob's workout again today. So, I just did a 10-minute pilates workout, since my abs weren't hurting yet. Caleb and Carson did the workout too, so that was fun. Well, Caleb did it for a few minutes before he wandered to the kitchen, got a bag of chex mix and dumped it on the floor. At least it keeps me moving, chasing him around and cleaning up messes all day.

We made a trip to Walmart today and then picked up Sonic for dinner. Other than that, we stayed around the house. The weather was very nice today. It definitely didn't feel like July. It's always nice to get a break from the usual thick hot air this time of year. We also did some cleaning out today and bagged up some stuff for Goodwill. I still need to do more cleaning out, but I will need to do it when Jamie isn't around. She likes to keep everything, even stuff Carson is trying to give away.

Tonight is Vic's poker night, so I am going to go take advantage of my quiet time to look over my VBS teacher's book. I can't believe VBS will be here in less than two weeks. I have a whole lot to do before then!
